Building Automation/Systems Integration Engineer –Ballston Spa
Working in the Operations Department, this position works closely with our clients to design and program DDC based automatic temperature control systems.
Major Duties and Responsibilities…
- Reads, interprets, and understands project specifications, plans and equipment.
- Conducts site surveys
- Designs Building Automation and Energy Management Systems by creating submittal drawings, installation drawings, valve & damper schedules, and as built drawings
- Formulates detailed Sequences of Operations to meet specifications
- Develops programming for control systems
- Provides technical support to other team members
- Assists and supports field installation team with commissioning and start-up of systems
- Provides sales team with technical assistance
Qualifications…
- Bachelor’s Degree or qualifying experience in Direct Digital Controls and integrations
- Prior experience in HVAC and temperature controls
- A team player who enjoys getting results through collaboration and cooperation.
- Prefers working in a fast-paced, customer- centered work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and must be results orientated
- Knowledge of one or more of the following desired:

Professional Estimator
Reviews project plans and specifications, prepares take-offs from blueprints, selects materials and prepares bid proposals for building automation and energy management systems projects and support services. The successful candidate will be extremely organized and detail-oriented to handle multiple projects and competing priorities. This role is critical to complete the sales cycle and to provide supply chain, installation and service staff with the information needed to meet customer expectations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities…
- Assists sales team in assessing requirements.
- Reviews project plans, specifications and other bid documentation.
- Visits Mechanical Contractors and/or potential construction sites to collect information for accurate estimating.
- Develops estimates that weigh and consider best equipment, cost strategies, vendor and subcontracting partners to desired outcomes.
- Uses estimating software to create a comprehensive estimate of job costs.
- Creates scope of work document from estimate.
- Creates final job analysis report for overall system production costs and assumptions.
- Keeps abreast of industry technologies, current pricing, labor rates, and related materials for construction and associated costs.
Qualifications…
- Smart, disciplined, results-oriented problem solver.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with applicable work experience.
